BJP to buckle up, revive sagging fortunes

BANGALORE: In an effort to resurrect its sagging image besides uniting warring leaders, the state BJP has decided to organise divisional- level public meetings.The decision was taken at the office-bearers’ meeting held here on Wednesday. The meetings will be held immediately after the Koppal bypolls. “The date and venue of the meetings will be announced after the Koppal elections,” said BJP spokesman Ayanur Manjunath. The decision to hold rallies was taken with the intention to prop-up the party’s image which has taken a severe beating following series of corruption charges against its first ever government and its leaders. Apart from public rallies, the party has also decided to conduct district and taluk level public meetings. With these programmes, the party is hoping to strike a truce between the warring factions in the state BJP.
