Bomb attack on police party in Peshawar, two dead
A police van was attacked with a remote controlled bomb.

Peshawar: Two policeman were killed and seven others injured when unidentified assailants targeted a police vehicle with a bomb in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar on Thursday, hours after a suicide attack on a court complex killed 19 people.

Police officials said a police van on routine patrol in the area under the jurisdiction of Yaqatoot police station was attacked with a remote controlled bomb shortly after midnight.

Two policeman died while seven others who were injured were rushed to Lady Reading Hospital.

The condition of three of the injured was described by officials as critical.

A station house officer was among the injured, they said.

Hours earlier, 19 people, including three policemen, were killed and 50 more injured when a suicide bomber struck a crowded court complex within the Peshawar cantonment.
