BANGALORE: The state Cabinet which is scheduled to meet here on Friday is likely to review the acute power shortage prevailing in the all parts of Karnataka.According to official sources, the Cabinet is likely to take stock of power availability in the state and decide on purchasing it from outside. The state government has already started load shedding — scheduled and unscheduled — in rural and urban areas except in the state capital. The Cabinet is also likely to approve a proposal to procure power from private agencies and from power exchanges in order to mitigate the problem which is likely to be exacerbated in the next few months.Recruitment for vacancies across all government departments, notably in naxal-infested districts, filling up of vacancies in the KPSC, the inclusion of the Urs community in the OBC list with 2a tag and issues relating to the distribution of title deeds to slum dwellers are among other issues to be deliberated at the meeting.
