KOCHI: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will organise a premier event for the construction equipment industry Excon 2011 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) in Bangalore from November 23-27. A roadshow was organised to mark the scheduling of Excon 2011 in Kochi on Monday.Chairman of CII Chennai Zone A Sunderashan said Excon is the largest exhibition on construction equipment in South Asia. “It will be the largest event on all counts including the number of domestic and overseas visitors, size of the exhibition area and new project launches. The biggest difference will be the presence of enhanced foreign players. There will be country pavilions from leading economies like China, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Spain, Turkey and Finland,” he added.Indian Earthmoving and Construction Industry Association Ltd. (IECIAL), an affiliate body of the CII, will host a two-day-long conference ‘ECE Industry - Vision 2020 and Beyond’ coinciding with Excon 2011 on November 24-25.  The conference would focus on areas such as ‘Future Growth in ECE Industry-Vision 2025,’ viable financing model for the equipment and projects, leading and renting of equipment, inclusive growth in construction industry and supply chain management.Earthmoving and Construction Industry Association is the sector partner.  The event is supported by the Builders Association of India. Excon 2011 would also have a large presence of small and medium enterprises in the component and aggregate manufacturing, showcasing India’s potential as a preferred outsourcing destination for construction equipment manufacturing.The participants will have live demonstrations of equipment for earthmoving and construction, lifting, material handling, concretemaking, hydraulics, pneumatics and drills, power tools and piling, electronics, controls and instrumentation, compactors, and compressors and generators.With the participation of almost all the leading players in the construction equipment industry, the exhibition would aim at facilitating faster and sustainable development of infrastructure and related sectors in India.
