The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will provide glowing danger sign boards in different parts of Greater Hyderabad to caution the public about the threat prone areas.It will also engage adequate manpower at water stagnation points to clear garbage and ensure water recedes in minimum possible time so that movement of vehicles do not get disturbed during ensuing monsoon season, said GHMC Mayor, Banda Kartika Reddy. She instructed officers to get sanctions at Zonal level itself for above mentioned works.    Reviewing with senior GHMC officials, including Chief Engineer, Zonal Commissioners and SEs of GHMC,  Mayor Reddy instructed the officials to take all precautionary measures for ensuing rainy season like fencing on nalas, construction of parapet wall and covers on manholes etc.Further she instructed officers to take up to special drive for one week to lift debris and also to clear silt road side catch pits points and other rain harvesting structures in parks and playgrounds. Mayor also said as this is the best time to tap rainwater, She directed GHMC to construct rain water harvesting pits beside roads, parks and playgrounds and other feasible areas on priority basis.Mayor Reddy also said that the GHMC will be using machines to remove debris and silt below the bridges and other places which were not reachable since few years and these machines can be used throughout the year. In rainy season, cleaning of nalas will be very easy with these machines, with the flowing of water, she added.Zonal Commissioners S Aleem Basha, P Anuradha, Yadagiri Reddy, Ram Narayan Reddy, Chief Engineer R Dhan Singh and others attended the meeting.
