BANGALORE: The Peenya police have cracked a murder case in which three persons had allegedly kidnapped and murdered their friend to meet their financial needs. The three persons have been nabbed and are identified as Nitin alias Rasika (23), Rakesh alias Rocky (21), both natives of Sakaleshapura taluk in Hassan and Chandrashekhar alias Chandra (22), a resident of Sunkadakatte. They had allegedly murdered Chethan, a clerk in DelhiPunjab Roadlines Transport company.The backgroundNitin and Chandra, employees in the same company, were reportedly fired on charges of misappropriation of funds.According to the police, Chethan, had gone to the company's bank in Peenya to draw a sum of `2.5 lakh cash on July 11, but was reported missing since then. When the company's officials enquired it was learnt that the cash was drawn. Later, they had filed a complaint with the police against Chethan.Meanwhile, Chethan's parents had lodged a complaint against Nitin and Chandru, suspecting their role in the kidnap.Based on that, the police arrested the trio in the outskirts of the city. "On interrogating them, they confessed that they had committed the murder. Nitin and Chandra, exemployees knew the whereabouts of financial transactions of the company and had hatched a plot to kidnap Chethan. As per the plan, the trio along with another person, Jitendra, kidnapped Chethan and took him in a car. They strangulated him and took away the cash and his mobile phone. Later, they buried the body in a coffee estate in Thadakallu village in Sakaleshapura," the police said.
The accused were taken to the spot where they had buried the body and the body was taken out and handed over to his parents. The stolen cash, which the accused had disbursed among themselves, and a car used in the crime have been recovered,the police added.
