HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is understood to have reviewed the prospects of the Congress with ministers in districts where byelections are likely in the event of the disqualification of 16 Congress MLAs and one PRP MLA, the proceedings of which are pending with the speaker.The chief minister held talks on the matter with ministers from the pollgoing districts on the second day of the collectors' conference here on Thursday. He also utilised the occasion to tell the collectors and superintendents of police to maintain law and order for conduct of elections in a fair manner..He told the ministers to assess the mood of the people and draw up strategies accordingly. He wanted them to be ready for elections and look for candidates known for integrity and honesty. He stressed the point that they should not give any scope for friction between the Congress and the PRP cadres.During the discussion, social welfare minister P Viswaroop said Thota Trimurhtulu could be fielded from Ramachandrapuram which is represented at present by former minister Pilli Subhashchandra Bose, who is a MLA facing disqualification.
