Computer facility at TNPSC sealed

CHENNAI: The computer facility at the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission office was sealed by the officials of Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption for further inspection. The Vigilance wing would check whether there had been any manual intervention in the results stored in the computers, sources said.Following the raids at the residence and office of the members, chairman and staff of TNPSC, the DVAC officials have sealed the computer facility located in the TNPSC office at Greams Road. Raids were conducted following allegations of corruption in the recruitment process of assistant dental surgeons, motor vehicle inspectors and recruitment of Group- 1.Sources said, the facility had computer systems that were used to correct and evaluate answer sheets. The action to seal the facility was taken to safeguard the data in the computers.Police said that they would seek the help of experts to check if the programme in the computer systems were foolproof or if there had been any manual intervention to change the data. According to police sources, once the inspection of the computer systems are over, further investigations of evaluating answer sheets would begin if it is found that there had been manual intervention in changing the data.
