Co-optex showroom in the city

HYDERABAD: Co-optex opened an exclusive export variety 'Co-optex International Showroom' to market its international range of products at domestic price at Chenetha Bhavan at Nampally. Home textile range including bed spread, table cloth, runners, cushion covers, curtains, shopping bags, apron, hand gloves are on display.Chandana Khan I.A.S, special chief secretary to government, primary education and Sarvasiksha Abhiyan, inaugurated the showroom along with Thiru G Santhanam IAS, secretary to government, handlooks, handicrafts, textile and Khadi department, government of Tamil Nadu.The Tamil Nadu Handloom weaver’s Co-operative society Ltd. popularly known as Co-optex, was established in 1935 with the objective to nurture and promote creative talent of weavers engaged in the co-operation handloom industry and provide a market for their produce. During its 77 years of effective functioning, it has established itself as a pioneer in the handloom industry. Co-Optex through its network of 203 showrooms located all over the nation, marketed the products of co-operative handloom weavers and achieved a sale of `218 crores during 2011-2012.
