THODUPUZHA: A day after M C Mathew resigned from the CPM, the party on Wednesday came out with claims that Mathew had not mentioned any thing against the party in his resignation letter. In a face-saving measure, party area secretary V V Mathai told reporters here that there was no mention about his concern over alleged factionalism in the party.Mathew had only cited personal reasons for leaving the party, he added.If Mathew had any opposition to Marxist or Leninist ideologies he should have brought it to the notice of the party, he said.Mathai said Mathew was not associated with party affairs for quite some time now.The party had got the feelers of his plans to quit the CPM, he said.Senior Leaders including party state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan had tried to persuade him from taking the decision, he said.
