Crorepati engineer raided

Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday raided premises of Executive Engineer, Lift Irrigation Division, Bhawanipatna, Satyapada Dash, and found property worth Rs 1.5 crore. Acting on allegations that he has amassed property disproportionate to his known sources of income, the Vigilance wing swooped on his office and residential premises in Bhubaneswar and Bhawanipatna.

He was found to have houses at Nayapalli and Jaydev Vihar along with paternal house at Surya Nagar here. He is stated to have one fourth share in the paternal house. Searches were also conducted at his rented house in Bhawanipatna and brother’s house here. Two cars and two motorcycles along with gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 3.2 lakh and bank deposits and investments running into over Rs 6 lakh were detected.He is also believed to have owned 10 homestead plots in Paradip and different parts of Bhubaneswar. Fixed assets have been calculated at more than Rs 1.46 crore. Further searches are on, Vigilance sources said.
