A Class IV employee of Public Health Engineering Organisation (PHEO) came under Vigilance raid for possession of assets running over Rs 1 crore.

Rabindra Kumar Mishra, who works as a “khalasi” with the PHEO’s Sub-Division 3 in Bhubaneswar, lives in an asbestos roofed house on the Unit II Pump House premises. Yet, when the anti-corruption sleuths searched, he was found to be in possession of three houses and several plots in Bhubaneswar and outlaying places. Sources said, Mishra has a double-storeyed building in Jagamara, valued at Rs 40 lakh while the land on which it is built is estimated at Rs 10 lakh. He owns four plots at Pipili, Jatni, Brahmakundala and Dhalapathara.

He had recently paid to acquire two more plots in the City. During the search at his paternal house in Kantilo’s Bapujinagar and in the city, the Vigilance found Rs 60,000 in cash, gold ornaments worth Rs 5.29 lakh, bank deposits of Rs 13.22 lakh and postal deposits of Rs 3.31 lakh.
