New Delhi: Pakistan has denied that gangster Dawood Ibrahim, wanted by India for crimes and terrorism, is living in its territory and ruled out any action against Maulana Masood Azhar, the militant leader wanted for the Mumbai terror attack.
The Pakistan government says India has given it a list of three persons allegedly involved in the Mumbai attack and not a list of 20 terror suspects. “Only three names have been given. They are Indian nationals Dawood Ibrahim and Tiger Memon, and a Pakistani, Maulana Masood Azhar,” said Rehman Malik, adviser to the Pakistani Prime Minister on Thursday.
“India has given us three names and demanded stern action against them,” Malik was quoted by Pakistan newspapers as saying.
Dawood and Tiger Memon, wanted for the 1993 serial blasts in Mumbai, were not in Pakistan. The Pakistan government cannot take action against Azhar unless evidence was provided by India against him, he said.
