DD, Akashvani employees to intensify stir

HYDERABAD: The Akashvani and Doordarshan Administrative Staff Association on Friday declared that they would intensify the agitation if the management failed to stop discrimination against them.Speaking to mediapersons here, association general secretary V Prasad said while forming the Prasar Bharati, the employees of AIR and DD have been placed at its disposal for working convenience. But even after 12 years, the Prasar Bharati management has not finalised their service conditions despite Supreme Court’s verdict that uncertainty cannot be allowed to continue indefinitely. He alleged that the management was adopting “divide and rule policy” by granting higher pay scales to certain categories of employees leaving others in the lurch who were actually there in the AIR and DD from the very beginning.
