A case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder has been registered against the owner of the building.
New Delhi: Police have registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against the owner of the building which collapsed killing over 60 people.
A senior police official said that Amrit Singh, a businessman, has been booked under section 304 of Indian Penal Code.
Singh fled along with his family soon after the four-storey building which had been rented out to migrant labourers collapsed at Lalita Park in east Delhi's Laxmi Nagar.
"Singh is absconding and we are searching for him," the police officials said.
The 15-year-old building, where an illegal fifth floor was being constructed, came crashing down around 8.15 PM on Monday.
