New Delhi: Of the 1.3 million voters, in Delhi, there are nearly 1.25 lakh fake voters and this could even prove instrumental in deciding the fate of several candidates in the February 7 elections.

CNN-IBN's sister channel TV channel IBN7 did a survey which found out that an alarming 1.25 lakh voters were fake. For minstance, in Mundka Assembly's Kanjhawala area, though the name of one Ram Avtar existed in the voters' list, he does not live there. In another house in Kanjhawala, a voter named Rakesh had two voter identity cards issued in his name.

Same was the situation in other areas like Tirthankar Nagar in Karala on the outskirts of Delhi.

Voters' list has several instances of wrong names, misplaced addresses, voters who might have moved to another location or even those who managed to get a fake voter ID card. Many cases are coming to the fore with not even 10 days remaining before Delhi goes to polls.

The Election commission has accepted that Delhi has nearly 1.25 lakh fake voters and that they will weed out such elements. But even the correction list has miles to go before it is fully corrected.

What's your reaction?
