New Delhi: Delhi police is all set to deal with the Jat agitation which will begin from March 20 onwards.
Delhi Police commissioner Amulya Patnaik held a meeting with all the senior police officers including the special commissioners, joint commissioners and deputy commissioners of districts along with SHOs to review arrangements.
They have adopted a strategy under which no vehicle with protestors will be allowed inside the capital.
"There's a Supreme Court directions as well which says no tractor and trolley will be permitted inside Delhi. It will be strictly implemented. If any protestor tries to enter the capital, his vehicle will be impounded and the vehicles will not be released as it will be violation of Supreme Court directions," DCP Madhur Verma said.
Delhi Police will also require additional forces, which will be provided to them along with anti-riot squads, he said.
The arrangements will be kept in mind that Delhi residents don't face any inconvenience because of the Jat agitation, Verma added.
According to the plan, outer districts of Delhi and adjoining borders will see maximum deployment of anti-riot companies. Suspicious vehicles will be stopped at the border itself. No one will be allowed inside the capital with lathis or any other weapons.
Anti-riot equipment will be used and proportionate use of force will be used if required, an officer said.
