After AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad reportedly advised roads and buildings minister Dharmana Prasada Rao to resume his ministerial duties, Dharmana, who had resigned recently, decided to take the advice of his Srikakulam constituency party workers before getting back to work on Tuesday.
Dharmana had handed over his resignation letter to chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on August 14 after the CBI named him as an accused in the additional charge sheet filed in connection with the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s disproportionate assets case.
Dharmana, who was advised against pressing for acceptance of his resignation, kept a low proflie till Monday, but is now considering the chief minister’s and his party high command’s advise and return to work.
Dharmana, who wants to make it appear like he has returned to work with the stamp of approval of his constituency, is holding a meeting with his constituency’s party workers.
He does not want to pare the gains he had made by resigning on moral grounds by resuming ministerial duty without consulting his party workers
