VIJAYAWADA: Task Force police on Wednesday arrested eight members of a fake currency gang and recovered currency notes worth Rs 4.5 lakh of Rs 500 denominations and two cars from their possession. According to deputy commissioner of police, M Ravindra Nadh Babu, Sai Kiran (26), a native of JN road of Medak district and an Acupuncture doctor by profession, has been procuring fake currency notes from Chennai and used to circulate them with the help of his friends at various places in the state. He used to give his friends `2 lakh fake notes in exchange of `1 lakh original currency notes.Sai Kiran has been in the fake currency business for the past few months with the help of G Pradeep Kumar (26) of Kukatpalli, SK Ali (30) MD Shafi (31) of Mallepalli of Hyderabad, Ch Sivaramakrishna (26) of Penamaluru, G Arun Kumar (25) a lorry driver of Auto Nagar, Ch Kishore Kumar (27) of Patamata, K Vijay (23) a car driver of Yenamalakuduru. Police arrested Sai Kiran along with his team at the Pandit Nehru Bus station when he was distributing currency notes to his gang.
