Election of 5 challenged

CHENNAI:  Five petitions challenging the election of successful candidates were filed on Wednesday.Chinnadurai had challenged the election of Alaguvelu (AIADMK) from Kallakurichi constituency.  Two petitions, one from the DMK and the other from the  BJP, challenged the election of A Lasar (CPM) from Periyakulam constituency.AIADMK candidate PR Manoharan challenged the election of DMK candidate Anitha Radhakrishnan. DMDK candidate SM Murugesan questioned the election of Senguttuvan from Dharmapuri district.Petitioners alleged irregularities against successful candidates. Justice K Venkataraman admitted the petitions and ordered four weeks notice to the respective parties.
