THIRUVANANTHAPURAM :‘Ente Gramam’ project, launched by Akshaya and conceived by Kerala IT Mission, which provides all details about local bodies in Malayalam will be converted into a constituency-based portal. The project is expected to be launched by the end of November in Kannur. The project has already been completed in Kannur and Kozhikode districts and is being implemented in Thrissur, Malappuram and Kollam districts.IT Mission coordinator Noufal K P said that this portal would be very useful for the MLAs as they would be able to get all the details about their constituency. The status of the projects in their area, their peculiarities and all other locally-relevant information will be available. “There will be all the details about the 140 constituencies in the state as a separate portal along with the details of all the panchayats, municipalities, Corporations and district panchayats. There will also be facilities for the public to interact with the MLAs and local body chiefs,’’ he said. The details of each panchayat and change in administration are being added to the portal now, said Akshaya content editor of Kannur district, Sreejith. All the information of the panchayat, history of the land, governance and information on public services will be available.“The majority of the public reaching the Akshaya centres are collecting details about new announcements of panchayats and benefits announced by the government. All queries and complaints of the public are brought to the notice of panchayat presidents and their replies are also uploaded in the portal,” he said.It has also been a great help to students in preparing project reports as the history, culture and art forms of each area are added in the portal. Now the project is moving at a slow pace as the new administration has to complete the formalities for providing fund to complete it, he added. The biggest attraction is the details of local labourers, including coconut climbers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, farmers and servants which include the contact number and name of the person and the locality in which they live. There are also large number of hits by the NRIs who want to know what was happening in their local panchayat.
