BANGALORE: To ensure medical assistance in emergency cases, Surya Seva Kendra, in association with Indian Red Cross Association, will set up first aid boxes in all major traffic junctions.Speaking to reporters on Monday, President of Surya Seva Kenra T N Ravikumar, said,“Accidents happen in the city due to increased traffic and careless driving. It is hard to keep people safe from getting seriously injured. The lack of first aid has also ended up in complicating the injuries during accidents and has turned to be fatal in some cases. This happens due to the delay in reaching hospitals”.Traffic police would be trained in first aid treatment, Ravikumar said adding that members of the public can also get this training.More than 500 accident prone traffic zones are identified and are installed with the first aid boxes. The maintenance of the these boxes will be shared by nearby medical stores, nursing homes, hospitals and Indian Red Cross Society.
