BANGALORE: Another illegal denotification case has been filed in the Lokayukta Court against former chief minister Yeddyurappa and Housing Minister V Sommana. In his private petition, Bangalore-based advocate H Yogendra also named Somanna’s wife Shylaja and his son B S Naveen as accused in the case of denotifying 30 guntas of land at Nagadevanahalli in Kengeri hobli in Bangalore South.Judge V H Sambrani, district judge who is in-charge of the Lokayukta Court, admitted the petition. The case pertained to denotification of land already acquired by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), from three sons of one Devegowda after his death. However, the accused falsely projected Devegowda’s wife Lingamma as the owner of the land and requested the then chief minister Yeddyurappa in 2010 to denotify the land on “humanitarian grounds”.In spite of BDA’s objections, Yeddyurappa denotified the land, and trasfered it to B S Naveen within three months. The Urban Development Department also objected to the denotification, citing an earlier case involving 22 guntas in the possession of an institution run by Minister V Somanna and his kin.A case has been filed in the Lokayukta Court in this regard.
