Lucknow: A fresh PIL was filed in the Allahabad High Court on Tuesday seeking a CBI probe into the mysterious death of Deputy CMO YS Sachan.

The PIL, filed by scribe Sachidanand alias Sachchey before the Lucknow Bench of the Court, is likely to come for hearing on July seven, petitioner's counsel Nadeem Murtaza told.

The petition prayed for a CBI probe saying it was a complicated case and required to be probed by the premier investigating agency, he said.

The state government, DG (Jails), the DIG and SSP Lucknow, the Station House Officer of Gosainganj Police Station and the CBI have been made respondents.

An urgency hearing petition was filed yesterday in connection with a pending PIL seeking a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in the Family Welfare Department.

Petitioner's counsel Prince Lenin said the Court had directed the state government to file its reply within four weeks but this was not done.

CJM Rajesh Upadhaya on Tuesday visted the Lucknow district jail for recording the statments of 10 prison employees, three of them doctors, in connection with Sachan's death.
