Bhopal Determined to oust Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Babulal Gaur, BJP's sanyasin Uma Bharti is awaiting a response from her party leadership on her demand for a change of guard before chalking out her future plans.
Claiming the support of over 100 MLAs, Bharati postponed her return to elections in Bihar and planned a massive congregation of supporters in Bhopal from across the state to gherao administrative buildings and block roads, in case any disciplinary action was taken against those revolting against Gaur, sources close to her said.
The protest plans, mooted after state Party president Shivraj Singh Chauhan had announced the possibility of action against the revolting MLAs on Tuesday, were deferred on Tuesday evening after Chauhan expressed satisfaction with explanations tendered by them. The political meeting was later converted into a religious discourse session.
Babulal Gaur had ?promised? Bharati that he would step down as and when she desired but went back on his word soon after she was acquitted in the case, sources said.
Adding to her demands for the formation of a coordination committee for MP also fell on deaf ears, furthering Bharati?s grudge against Gaur.
With Gaur filrmly ensconced at the helm of affairs, Bharati, who wanted to be a member of this committee primarily to keep Gaur under check, also ?lost? her say in the appointment of the chief secretary and director general of police..
With her demands for a coordination committee not being met, Bharati, who wished to be its member to keep Gaur under check, also ?lost? her say in the appointment of the chief secretary and director general of police.
Asked if inner democracy was being followed in the party following the demand for a legislature party meeting, Bharati said that the BJP top brass, including its president L K Advani, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Jaswant Singh have given sufficient attention to State Minister Gaurishankar Shejwar demands
Delivering a religious discourse in Bhopal, the fiery sanyasin said she was fighting for the people as it was her only goal after she became a sadhvi.
?In order to fight for the people, I am even prepared to become a chaprasi," Bharati said, indicating she was clamouring to become CM.
Earlier, in a hard-hitting letter sent to RSS chief K.S. Sudarshanand and BJP president L K Advani, Bharati accused Sangh joint general secretary of ?gross prejudice? against her and scuttling her chances of making a comeback to state politics.
In the four-page letter Bharati made a scathing attack on Party vice-president Venkaiah Naidu and BJP general secretary Sanjay Joshi charging them with being ?used? by Soni who is incharge of party affairs.
She is understood to have even given details of party meetings to substantiate her charges.
