The five-day Inspire training camp for Plus-I science students is being organised as per the special interest of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in selected colleges

To encourage the youth to delve into basic science and to generate fuel during the 21st century, a five-day ‘Inspire’ training camp is being organised as per the special interest of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in selected colleges.

“Our country and China are nations with the  largest number of youth that this century has seen. The two countries are on a competitive path in the field of human resources development, said Union Minister of State for Food and Consumer Affairs K V Thomas.

He was inaugurating ‘Inspire’ training camp at Sacred Heart College, Thevara, on Monday. The five-day camp is being held for selected Plus-One students in the science stream across the state.

He hoped that the camp would inspire the students to pursue their interests. 300 Plus-One students excelling in science stream are participating.  Experts in the field will conduct classes. Training will be held in the laboratory every afternoon. The camp which is free of cost will conclude on September 14.

College manager Fr Paulose Kidengan presided over the function. Camp convener Dr Georgekutty Joseph welcomed the gathering. Principal Fr Prasant Palackappillil, Professor Varadarajan and Professor P J Joseph offered felicitations. Staff secretary Joseph T Moolayil proposed a vote of thanks.
