GHMC engineer caught taking Rs 1.5 lakh bribe

HYDERABAD: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths nabbed an executive engineer (EE) of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Wednesday for taking bribe.E Chinna Reddy, an EE of Division VI at Abids was caught taking Rs 1.5 lakh at his house in Jubilee Hills around 9.10 p.m. He took money from a representative of Ashoka Engineering Company which supplied equipment to GHMC.“The material worth Rs 17 lakh was supplied to GHMC but EE delayed the payment,” Sai Krishna, ACB’s deputy superintendent of police said. Reddy insisted on payment of Rs 5 lakh but the deal was finally fixed at Rs 3 lakh, police said. He was nabbed while taking Rs 1.5 lakh as first installment.
