As hundreds of doctors protest across the country over the brutal rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital, horrifying details emerged from the post-mortem reports of the victim. The reports revealed that the accused had beaten her up when she tried to resist and protect herself, before being raped and murdered.
As per the autopsy reports, cut marks were found on the victim’s hands and face. The reports indicated that a brutal blow caused shards of glass from her spectacles to break and enter her eyes. Injuries to the head were also reported, as the accused slammed the deceased’s head against the wall.
While banging her head against the wall, the accused reportedly covered her mouth with pressure, which led to the injury marks on the victim’s face. Worse, the torture didn’t end there as the accused later strangled the trainee doctor to death. According to several reports, doctors also found several injury marks on her private parts thereby indicating rape.
As per a report by News18 Bangla, the accused, Sanjay Roy was drunk. Meanwhile, cut marks were also spotted on the accused’s hands and face which indicates that the victim tried to resist the torture in a bid to save herself.
Victim Watched Olympics, Had Dinner With 4 Doctors
A report by Bengali daily Anandabazaar Patrika stated that the victim had watched Neeraj Chopra’s javelin throw as a part of the Paris Olympics, before having dinner at 2:30 am that night with four of her colleagues. She then headed to the seminar hall to take rest. Police have recorded statement of seven junior doctors, out of whom four people had dinner with the victim that night.
The Assistant Super who called family first to inform about the incident has been summoned tomorrow. Along with that, the Chest Department head also been summoned.
Victim Attacked While She Was Asleep
Media reports have also suggested that the victim spoke to her mother at 11 pm that night, where she informed that she had ordered food online. After having dinner, the victim went to the seminar hall where she wrapped a red blanket and slept on the blue carpet there. She was reportedly attacked by the accused while she was asleep.
