Allahabad High Court on Thursday issued notices to the Election Commission and Aam Admi Party and gave them three weeks time to file reply on a petition of Naitik Party, which wanted Jhadu election symbol for Lok Sabha polls.
The Lucknow division bench comprising Justices Rajiv Sharma and Mahendra Dayal have passed this order while hearing the petition of Chandra Bhushan Pandey.
Pandey had moved the court staking Naitik Party's claim on Jhadu election symbol, saying that the party was allotted this symbol in 2012 Assembly polls.
He claimed that the party had in advance applied to the EC for the same symbol for Lok Sabha polls too adding that allotting the symbol to AAP was against law.
While issuing notices to EC and AAP, the court has directed to fix the date of hearing after four weeks.
