A 28-year-old married woman attending her ailing brother at a government hospital in Jaipur was allegedly raped by a ward boy who has been arrested, police said in Jaipur on Thursday. 22-year-old Ramvtar Balai, employed with SMS hospital, told the woman's husband that he will help them get refund of the cottage ward fee where his brother-in-law was admitted.
Balai on the pretext of giving job to the man took the couple to their home where he sent the husband outside to bring cold drinks and snacks and raped the woman, Motidungari police station SHO Hariram Kumawat said.
The ward boy was arrested on Wednesday, he said. Meanwhile, the SMS hospital has suspended the ward boy with immediate effect, the medical and health department officials said. Balai was produced on Thursday before metropolitan magistrate Rajesh Kumar who sent him to jail, the SHO said.
