BANGALORE: Defiance turned to delusion on Tuesday as Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, who has been under fire over his indictment by the leaked Lokayukta report on illegal mining, sought to defend himself by saying he should have got a Nobel Prize for his “pro-active measures” to stop illegal mining in the state.“I am the only CM to stop export of iron ore from Karnataka besides taking several measures to stop illegal mining. For this I should have got the Nobel Prize. But unfortunately, I am being treated as a criminal in the illegal mining issue,” the CM said at a function organised by the Savitha Samudaya Meesalathi Okkuta here.He also accused the Centre and Opposition of “torturing him” and said, ‘‘Opposition parties cannot digest my popularity, which is a result of the development activities undertaken by my government here.”
