J&K separatist leaders put under house arrest ahead of Martyrs day
Separatist leaders hit out at Prime Minister Modi and Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif for not discussing the Kashmir dispute when they met at Ufa in Russia.

Srinagar: Ahead of an anti-India protest by separatists in Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir on Martyrs' Day on Monday, the Mufti Sayeed government has cracked down on the separatists. Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Shabir Shah, Yasin Malik and other separatist leaders have been put under house arrest.

Separatist leaders on Saturday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for not discussing the Kashmir dispute when they met in Russia.

"Our stand is clear; they (India, Pakistan) should both concentrate on the core issue and resolve Kashmir. Till Kashmir issue is addressed, such talks will be futile. They will be disappointing," Ayaz Akbar, spokesman of the hardline Hurriyat, led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani, had said.

Meanwhile, MoS PMO Jitender Singh said he has full confidence in state government and it's capability to handle any kind of situation.
