PHULBANI: The Maoists have been planning to blow up CRPF camps at Paniganda, Daringibadi and Bamunigaon police stations in Kandhamal district. About 150 Koya tribals from Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand were specially recruited for the task entrusted to the Milisia and Central committees. This was disclosed by a Maoist Jagannath Naik (45) of Bagati village during the interrogation following his arrest by Daringibadi police from Kerubadi village on Thursday. Petrol, diesel, landmines, 50 camera flash and ammunition have been stocked in five four-wheelers and four motorcycles for the mission, he said. The Maoists have mobilised local villagers to obstruct security forces by blocking roads with logs during the attack, he added. The attack could be more damaging and brutal in nature than the one at Nayagarh in February, 2008.The district police has started counter measures to foil any attack by the ultras. Combing operations have been intensified in Daringibadi and Bamunigaon areas and vehicles checked, said SP JN Pankaj.
