New Delhi: Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's forthcoming venture 'Michael' has entered into a strategic distribution relationship with international distributor Fortissimo Films.
The distribution company has earlier tied up with other independent filmmakers from all over the world including,= Emmy winner Martin Scorsese, stylized filmmaker John Woo and the noted filmmaker of Hong kong Wong Kar-wai.
The announcement was made in a recently concluded Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) where 'Michael' had its world premiere.
The film is a joint production of Anurag Kashyap Films and Viacom18 Motion Pictures'. Directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, it stars the legendary actor Naseeruddin Shah and 'Not a love Story' actress Mahie Gill.
"I have always believed in making movies which I have faith in. It's been quite a long journey for me to make films that I believe in and see the release that they truly deserve The response to Michael is testimony to the talent of Ribhu and his team and the strong support that Viacom18 Motion Pictures has been extending to our films," said Kashyap.
Whereas, Fortissimo Chairman, Michael J Werner, added, "We're delighted to be working alongside Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Anurag Kashyap. They have an exciting vision of new Indian cinema which we hope to bring to audiences throughout the globe."
