The older sister of Bharti Yadav, Bhawna Yadav failed to appear in court yet again on Wednesday.

New Delhi: The older sister of Bharti Yadav, who is key witness in the Nitish Katara murder case, Bhawna failed to appear in court yet again on Wednesday.

Bhawna, who scheduled to record her testimony in court, moved an exemption application before Additional Sessions Judge Ravinder Kaur, with a medical certificate expressing her inability to be present before the court as she was unwell.

The court has fixed March 9 as the next date for her to record her testimony.

Before this, Bhawna was supposed to depose and record her statement on February 8. But she could not appear due to medical reasons.

Bharti and Bhawna’s brother Vikas and cousin Vishal are accused of kidnapping and murdering Nitish with whom she allegedly had an intimate relationship.

While Vikas and another accused Sukhdev Pehlwan are in jail, Vishal has been granted bail by the Delhi High Court.

Nitish Katara was murdered on February 17, 2002 in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, where he had gone to attend a marriage party.
