NEDUMBASSERY: The passengers of an Abu Dhabi-Kozhikode flight refused to disembark from the flight at Kochi airport demanding that the airline management should keep its word of arranging air travel for them to Kozhikode.
The passengers had reserved tickets to Kozhikode from Abu Dhabi. But the flight was cancelled owing to some technical reasons. They were then taken to Mumbai in another flight with the promise that they would be taken from Mumbai to their initial destination in a Mumbai-Kozhikode flight. On arriving in Mumbai, the passengers were later informed that the plane to Kozhikode had left before their flight landed.Instead, they were taken to Kochi, where they reached around 8 pm. The airline authorities had offered taking them to Kozhikode by road, but the passengers did not accept it and refused to get off the flight. However, the Air India authorities pacified the passengers, who agreed to proceed to Kozhikode by car. There were around 35 passengers on board to travel to Kozhikode, airport sources said.
