New Delhi: JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar, in judicial custody in a sedition case, has now moved Delhi High Court for bail.
Kumar’s lawyers moved the HC hours after the Supreme Court refused his lawyers’ plea to hear the bail application on grounds of his security.
The SC said it hearing the bail plea would set a wrong precedent, but asked the High Court to expeditiously look into it.
As the bail application was filed in the HC, a section of lawyers took out a march to India Gate, shouting slogans against JNU students.
Kanhaiya was booked for sedition after he was part of event at the JNU campus in memory of Parliament attacker Afzal Guru in which anti-India slogans were raised.
