BANGALORE: The Lokayukta police on Friday opened a first information report (FIR) on H D Balakrishne Gowda, son of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The Lokayukta Special Court had on September 24, admitted the case against Balakrishne Gowda and Judge K N Sudheendra had asked the Lokayukta Superintendent of Police-1 to investigate the case under Section 156 of CrPC. S N Balakrishna, a retired engineer with Bhadravathi Iron Ore Company, had filed a petition alleging that Balakrishne Gowda, whose annual income as a KAS officer was `10 lakh, had assets worth `70 crore, which are now worth more than `500 crore.
