BANGALORE: The Lokayukta Court on Monday ordered a probe against former CM N Dharam Singh, former minister H D Revanna and others based on a complaint of irregularities in land denotification. Judge N K Sudheendra Rao directed the Lokayukta Police (Bangalore Urban) to probe the private complaint filed by BJP Yuva Morcha member secretary Ravi Kumar and submit a report by May 21. Besides the two leaders, Kavita Balakrishna, wife of H D Balakrishna - son of former prime minister H D Deve Gowda - has also been named in the complaint. Dharam Singh has been accused of denotifying 10 acres and 17 guntas of land in Uttarahalli, Bangalore South, belonging to JD(S) MLC K V Narayana Swamy in October 2005. The land was allotted for the formation of Banashankari sixth stage layout by the BDA during his tenure as CM. Ravi said 2 acres and 20 guntas were sold to Kavita for `50 lakh for which a sale deed was executed on December 9, 2005. Kavita, in turn, sold the land to Sobha Developers on August 1, 2006, for `4 crore. The current market value of the property is about `20 crore, he said.BSY Plea on Governor Sanction Deferred The Karnataka High Court on Monday adjourned a petition filed by former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa challenging Governor H R Bhardwaj’s sanction to prosecute him on charges of corruption and illegal land deals, till June 14. A Division Bench of Justices Ajit Gungal and B V Nagarathna passed the order. Bhardwaj had on January 21 given permission to advocates Sirajin Basha and K N Balaraj to file criminal cases against Yeddyurappa, following which the advocates filed five complaints in a trial court in Bangalore against Yeddyurappa, his two sons, son-in-law and several others. BSY Plea Adjourned A HC Division Bench comprising Justices D V Shylendra Kumar and Govindarajulu on Monday adjourned till June 4 the petition filed by former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa seeking to quash the summons issued against him by the Lokayukta Special Court in connection with private complaints 3 and 4, filed by advocates Sirajin Basha and K N Balaraj. Spl HC Bench Hearing Plea on Court ClashAs Karnataka HC Chief Justice Vikramjit Sen recused himself from hearing petitions on the violence at the city civil court on March 2, the case was referred to a Special Bench comprising Justices Ajit Gunjal and B V Nagarathna. Hearing on the petition was, however, adjourned till Tuesday. A slew of PILs have been filed on the incident seeking direction for a CBI enquiry. Counsel for the petitioner - Advocate Association, Bangalore - said many advocates lost their vehicles during the incident but the police failed to register cases.
