Chennai: Tamil movie super star Rajinikanth has offered his marriage hall free of cost to the activists of India Against Corruption (IAC) to hold their protest fast for next three days but is not for or against any version of Lokpal law, said an activist.
"Rajinikanth was here for around ten minutes to see what we are doing. He said he is for anti-corruption, but is not in support of any version of anti-corruption law that is now being debated," Banu Gomes, media coordinator of IAC's Chennai Chapter.
In a statement issued on Monday, IAC said Rajinikanth has offered his Ragavendra Kalyana Mandapam free of cost for three days December 27 to 29 for IAC to hold their fast protest in support of Hazare.
During Hazare's 12-day fast in August this year, Rajinikanth had expressed his support for the anti-corruption movement, the IAC statement said.
According to Gomes, around 200 people have registered for the three-day fasting protest starting on Tuesday at 9 am and ending on Thursday at 5 pm.
