BANGALORE: A 32-year-old painter was allegedly abducted and tortured for two days in an illegal confinement when he refused to convert to a particular religion. The incident came to light when the victim managed to escape and reported the matter to the Hennur police.
A resident of CMH Road, Selvakumar was painting a house on Saturday when a person introduced himself as Dominic offered him a painting work . Dominic later took Selvakumar to his house in Hennur on the pretext of evaluating the cost of the work. Soon after reaching the house, Dominic tried to lure Selvakumar asking him to convert, he alleged. Shocked by the preposition, Selvakumar tried to avoid discussing the topic thinking that he may lose the job, but Dominic forced him to give consent.

Soon Dominic and others locked him in a room and began to preach. "They forced me to pray with them and assaulted me when I refused to oblige them", Selvakumar alleged in the complaint filed.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Selvakumar's statement has many lose ends and police are verifying the facts before initiating further action.
