Man rapes 14-year-old girl at Budhwari Bazar

A 14-year-old girl from Budhwari Bazar near Raipur was allegedly raped by her neighbour in her house, police said on Sunday.

The youth, identified as Amit Yadav, allegedly sexually assaulted the minor girl when she was alone at her house on May 31, they said, adding Yadav also threatened the victim with dire consequences before fleeing.

Police said the girl initially did not disclose the matter to anyone but later confided it to her parents who filed a complaint with police, following which a case was registered against Yadav on Sunday. Efforts were on to trace Yadav, police added.
