Maoist leader killed in encounter in Orissa

Keonjhar: A Maoist leader was shot dead in an encounter with the police in a jungle in Orissa's Keonjhar district on Saturday.

Sunil alias Rahul, the "second-in-command " of the Maoist's 'Kalinga Nagar division', was killed when the Keonjhar-Jajpur District Voluntary Force (DVF) raided a camp at Sapua forest in Pandapada area, Keonjhar SP Asish Kumar

Singh said.

A revolver, a country-made gun, Maoist literature and mobile chargers were recovered from a bag at the encounter site, Singh said.

Some material looted from Daitari police station were also seized, he said.
