KOCHI: Mayor Tony Chammany said the corporation is trying its level best to resolve the issues plaguing the city. “There has been an acute financial crisis and we are struggling hard to battle it,” he said. The Mayor said that the major achievement of the Kochi Corporation is in the arena of waste management. “We have floated expression of interest to set up a new plant at Brahmapuram. Work is on to scientifically process the waste dumped at the old Brahmapuram plant,” he said. The Mayor also refuted the the Opposition’s charge that his administration did not produce any results. “By the end of this month, a full-fledged cemetery will be inaugurated at Ravipuram with the support of the Rotary Club. Besides, the formation of a company for water transportation and infrastructure development is also on cards.
