Mimicked Tigmanshu for 'Bullet Raja' role: Chunky Panday
Chunky Pandey says he is already getting appreciation from the industry for his unique character.

New Delhi: Actor Chunky Panday, who has played the character of London Tiwari in Tigmanshu Dhulia's 'Bullet Raja', says he mimicked the filmmaker for this role.

The 51-year-old actor also says that he was surprised when offered a role in the movie, which the national-award winning filmmaker especially penned down for Chunky.

"I don't belong to Tigmanshu's kind of films. When he called me I though somebody is playing a prank with me. He wanted me to bring a newness to the character of London Tiwari. He wrote it so brilliantly that the whole thing became very easy for me. He is good actor too so I just mimicked him for this role," Chunky told PTI.

Set in Lucknow, the film, which is releasing today, is a story of a local mafia and stars Saif Ali Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Jimmy Shergill in prominent roles.

Chunky says he is already getting appreciation from the industry for his unique character. "My character is on the lines of the roles played by actors like Kanhaiyalal and Jeevan. Vishal Bhardwaj and Anurag Kashyap congratulated me after seeing the promo of the film," he said.

Having started his career as a supporting actor in 1987 film 'Aag Hi Aag', Chunky shot to fame with Anil Kapoor starrer 'Tezaab'. Since, then he has appeared in many films. Chunky also worked in Bangladeshi Cinema and most of his

movies in Bangladesh are successful. "I get bored of things very quickly. I was getting similar roles in Bollywood after a point of time and there was nothing

exciting about it. So, I shifted my base to Bangladeshi films, But one day my wife told me that I should be back to my roots because there is a generation who doesn't know who Chunky Panday is!" he said.

The actor returned to Bollywood as a comic hero and starred in series of comedies including 'Apna Sapna Money Money', 'Housefull', 'Tees Maar Khan', 'Ready' among others.

Apart from 'Bullett Raja', Chunky is also excited about his upcoming project 'Disco Valley', a sex-comedy based on the last day of the world.

He will also be seen in Satish Kaushik's 'Gang of Ghost' in which his character is a tribute to veteran actor K L Saigal. Chunky is also starring in Sajid Khan's 'Himmatwala'.
