KOCHI: A Memorandum of Understanding to set up a Container Freight Station (CSF) at Vallarpadam was signed between INKEL Limited and APM Terminal Inland Services on Friday. CSF Officials stated that the facility worth Rs 65 crore, which will be operational in 2013, will have the capacity to handle 1,00,000 containers per year. Joseph Sandiav, head of CSF business, said that the Container Freight Station, to be spread across 18.5 acres, assures international standards and quality customer services which will ease and simplify container logistics.INKEL with APM terminals Inland Services aims to operate a state-of-the-art CFS in Vallarpadam. Rs 5,000 crores will be invested in the coming five years by the joint venture as various infrastructure projects in Kochi. T Balakrishnan Managing Director of INKEL, Paul Antony Chairman of Cochin Port Trust and Subhasis Ghosh Managing Director of APM were present during the signing of the agreement.
