Heavy rain lashed parts of Mumbai on Friday following a nowcast warning predicting intense spells of rain at isolated places in the city over the next 3-4 hours.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in a statement said, “Intense spells of rain are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Mumbai during the next 3-4 hours, the IMD said. The IMD has further issued a yellow alert in the Thane and Raigad regions in their nowcast warning today.”
Roads in the King’s Circle area witnessed waterlogging amid the heavy downpour. The Virar-bound local train experienced massive crowds.

Overnight incessant rainfall also led to waterlogging in several parts of Navi Mumbai.
IndiGo airlines notified that flights are being affected by heavy rains and air traffic congestion in Mumbai.
