New Delhi: It has been ten days since the botched BBM for Android and BBM for iPhone release. BlackBerry still has no specific date to share on the re-release of the much awaited app for non-BlackBerry devices but the excitement amongst the users eager to install the apps is palpable.
BBM for Android was the most searched for keywords on Google in India on Saturday, September 21. Though the volume of BBM search queries has plummetted since the expected launch of the BBM for Android and BBM for iPhone apps, there is still a sizeable number of queries being made every day.
Analysing the worldwide trends for BBM, BBM for Android and BBM for iPhone search queries on Google, it is quite obvious that Indonesia, one of the last bastions of BlackBerry (where is is also fast losing market share), is where people are most eager about the BlackBerry Messenger, followed by Trinidad and Tobago that is a distant second. But Indonesians are not so upbeat about BBM for iPhone, where Honduras is on top and Indonesia a far away eighth.
Though India doesn't display as much interest in searching for BBM on Google as citizens of other countries, Mumbai is by far India's BBM city if Google search queries are an indicator. On segregating the data by cities, Mumbai appears on the top of the list for all three search terms "BBM", "BBM for Android," and "BBM for iPhone." The results are similar for other similar keywords.
