Narendra Modi Swearing-in ceremony Today: Delhi Police Issues Traffic Advisory | Check Route Closures, Diversions
A large number of people are expected to witness the swearing-in ceremony, which may affect the traffic on the surrounding roads of Rashtrapati Bhawan, Delhi Traffic police said in a statement

Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory in the national capital in view of the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi which is set to take place on June 9. The ceremony will take place from 6:00 pm onwards. A large number of people are expected to witness the swearing-in ceremony, which may affect the traffic on the surrounding roads of Rashtrapati Bhawan.

According to Delhi police officials, five companies of paramilitary forces will be deployed for the security of Rashtrapati Bhavan. In addition to this, NSG commandos, drones, and snipers will also guard the Rashtrapati Bhavan for the event.

Delhi Traffic Advisory For June 9

The following roads will remain closed for traffic movement from 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm and only pedestrian movement will be allowed on June 9, Sunday-

  • Sansad Marg (between Transport Bhawan and T-point Rafi Ahmed Kidwal Morg)
  • North Avenue Road
  • South Avenue Road
  • Kushak Road
  • Rajaji Marg
  • Krishna Menon Marg Takatora Road
  • Pt. Pant Marg
  • DTC buses will not be allowed to ply on the surrounding roads of Rashtrapati Bhawan

No parking will be allowed on the following roads on June 9, Sunday-

  • Imtiaz Khan Marg
  • Rakob Ganj Road
  • Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Marg
  • Pandit Pant Marg
  • Talkatora Road

Vehicles found parked on the above roads shall be towed away and prosecuted for Improper parting and disobedience of lawful instructions. Towed vehicles would be parked in the Traffic Pit at Pandit Pant Marg towards Gole Dak Khana.

Before taking the oath, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Raj Ghat at 6:30 am, the ‘Sadaiv Atal’ memorial at 7:00 am, followed by a visit to the War Memorial at 7:30 am.

Special traffic arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth flow of traffic in nearby areas between 6:45 am to 8:45 am.

Diversion Points (As And When Necessary)

  • Ram Charan Aggarwal Chowk (A Point)
  • Delhi Gate
  • Rajghat Chowk Shanti Van Crossing
  • Y-Point Salim Garh
  • Geeta Colony Flyover
  • Subhash Park T-Point

Heavy Commercial vehicles and buses will not be allowed on the following roads from 6:45 am to 8:00 am on June 9, Sunday-

  • IP Marg
  • Bahadurshah Zafar Marg
  • Jawaharlal Nehru Marg
  • Mahatma Gandhi Marg between IP Flyover and Shanti Van to Y-Point (Salim Garh and MGM merging)

Commuters are requested to cooperate by avoiding/bypassing the above-mentioned roads, if possible, and make maximum use of public transport to reach their destinations. We appreciate your understanding and your cooperation towards the eviation of traffic congestions during the above-mentioned period. People who are going towards ISBT/Railway Stations/Airports are advised to carefully plan their travel with sufficient time at hand, the Delhi Traffic Police said in a statement.
