Naxals kill four CPI-M workers in West Bengal
Naxals left notes near the dead bodies saying all victims were police informers.

Kolkata: Suspected Naxals killed four Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) in Midnapore West district of West Bengal early on Thursday morning.

While three CPI-M activists were shot dead in Sevayatan village under Jhargram police station, the fourth person was found dead in Salgeria, under the Salboni Police station area.

Police officials said that the three who were shot dead in Sevayatan have been identified as Bijay Mahto, Manik Mahto, Brihaspati Mahto.

They were reportedly called out from their homes at about 0130 hrs IST on Thursday and gunned down.

The Naxals also left pamphlets near the dead bodies saying the victims were police informers and had been given the "extreme punishment by people's verdict".

In another incident, the Naxals blew up an office of the forest department at Jhitka in Lalgarh area using a landmine.
